Vacation #1

We were lucky this summer to be able to get away twice (only a week apart, but....)

In late July, we headed to the Dells area where we had rented a house/cabin for a week. It wasn't *quite* what we were expecting...but we made the most of the week away with Gramma, Papa, Ant Jood, and Gary. We found a beautiful beach within a few miles and spent 2 different afternoons there. We also drove into the Dells a few times and did "touristy" type things there. Fishing, swimming, reading, playing, resting, cooking out, making smores, shopping. It was a fun week!

We were hiking along the path- and Maggie stopped dead in her tracks. She was freaked out by the "crocodile" coming up the side of the path....

These sandhill cranes walked through the backyard daily. The girls (and Dan!) were fascinated!

Hattie was excited to be home in her OWN bed (like mother, like daughter!)
