The Saturday following the last day of school, Maggie was in a dance recital. It was hot. Friday night was rehearsal. We were told to report at 5pm so they could do a quick "run through." What they failed to mention was that there were (no lie) SIXTY THREE acts. Maggie's group was #55 in the line-up. And there was no air conditioning. And I brought a three year old and a three month old to wait with me. Shortly after 6pm, I called Dan on his way home from work to have him bring the girls some dinner. Then, I had him stay with Maggie while I took the other 2 home to get ready for bed (thank GOD for a nursing baby!) Dan and Maggie got home, shortly before 9pm. So much for a "quick run-through!"
Saturday was RECITAL day! Oh, and did I mention there were TWO performances that day? And still no air-conditioning? Maggie was a super, amazing trooper (I think she thought she was the *star* of the show herself, so all that waiting was really no big deal!) Besides, she was just a teensy bit excited to wear her beautiful costume and have the chance to wear real make-up!
Drama, anyone?
Good ol' Gramma and Ant Jood toughed it out! They wouldn't miss Maggie's performance for anything!
Mags and Momma
Tired... but so, so proud!
In case you wanted to see her performance.... (she's the second little dancer from the left!)
