Lucy's Birthday

Lucy turned 3 the first week of June. She had been talking about her birthday since December. She decided early that she wanted to have a "Caillou" birthday party this year. Hmph. Caillou? Really? But- if that's what Lucy wants, that's what Lucy gets. After scouring the internet for (rare and super overpriced) Caillou party supplies, we decided to just splurge on a cool Caillou shirt for Lucy and make one awesome Caillou cake, then "accent" with red, yellow, and blue.
Easy, right?

Everything was going great- until approximately 2 weeks prior to the party. I had created a Caillou themed invitation, printed a handful, and mailed them off... only to have Lucy CHANGE. HER. MIND. She wanted a mermaid party instead. And there was no ifs, ands, or buts about it (Let me mention here how much I love 'almost' three year olds...) Then, as if by some divine intervention, the aforementioned Caillou shirt arrived in the mail.... and the birthday pendulum quickly swung back to the Caillou party. THANK GOD.

 Caillou cake!

Lucy was so excited about her cake!

The wonderful and amazing Caillou t-shirt

Did I mention it came with a cape???

Anyway- the party was small, but lots of fun!

Hattie was not too fond of the birthday hats...

Mom had to work, but Gramma took Lucy out to breakfast with Aunt Kath and cousin Camden!

Mom didn't bake another cake- instead, we went for custard!
