On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Hattie Irene was baptized! Father Don married Dan and I and baptized both of the older girls, so it was kind of bittersweet to not have him as part of this ceremony, but Father Bob did an outstanding job and it was nice to be able to share this special occasion with him. My best friend, Jill was chosen as Hattie's godmother, and Dan asked his best friend, John, to be godfather. Lucky for us, John agreed, but he unfortunately was unable to make it up from Texas to be part of the ceremony with us (thank goodness for Jill's husband, Aaron- who was willing to step in as proxy for the day!) All in all, it was a wonderful day and an incredible reminder of how blessed we are to be part of such an amazing, loving, and welcoming church community.
