Happy Birthday Gramma!

Last week we celebrated Gramma's 60th birthday! Maggie loves birthdays, and Gramma's is always exciting because it means Maggie's is only ONE MORE MONTH AWAY! Anyway- we celebrated on St. Patrick's day with corned beef and cabbage and a red velvet cake. We had to throw her off- because we had a big SURPRISE party planned for that weekend! It was so much fun. Maggie was THRILLED to be able to play with all of her cousins, and it was just nice to have all of Gramma's friends and family in one place to celebrate someone very special!

This is what Maggie looked like after licking the spatula full of red velvet cake batter!

Maggie helped Momma decorate Gramma's cake.

Close-up.

Happy Birthday, Gramma!

Maggie... SO EXCITED!

Sichmeller Grandbabies!

(sorry- try to ignore Lucy "banging" her pots and pans in the background... she was "baking" too!)

9 Month Check-Up

Lucy went for her 9 month well-baby visit the first week of March (yeah, yeah... we're a little behind!) Anyway- she is happy and healthy... and starting to "slim" down a bit! Must be all that crawling, pulling up on furniture, waving, clapping, crawling, giggling, smiling, crawling, cruising, and crawling....

Here are her stats (and a few fun pictures from the last few weeks!)
Height: 27 1/4" (50th percentile)
Weight: 19 lbs. 8 oz. (75th percentile)

A few weeks ago, Lucy began to SCREAM in her high chair while we ate dinner. She finally stopped when we began to give her the same food we were eating. Baby food? Not any more! Lucy only wants "big people" food (which is really fun with only 2 teeth.....)

This is Lucy after a meatball.....

Lucy likes to pull up on the piano bench and bang on the keys, which is usually followed by mom or dad yelling "Lucy! NO!" very loudly.... Notice the look on her face- this is her checking to make sure no one is around before she reaches up to hit the keys....

Wisconsin Dells

For Christmas, Gramma and Papa gifted us all a weekend at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Unfortunately not everyone could make it, but we had a B-L-A-S-T! Hopefully next time we can schedule it so that everyone can come with!
Maggie and her new BFF, Auntie Katie!

What's so funny, Maggie?

Us.

Maggie couldn't wait to get on her swimmin' suit and jump in the pool!

Lucy, our bathing beauty!

Lucy didn't last too long that first night! She pooped out soon after we got to the pool!

Even Gramma went down the water slide!

Maggie snuggles her Lulu monkey!

We were on the way to the pool, but decided to stop for a photo op next to the whiskey barrel!

the girls!

Look at those baby blues!

Lucy Lu and Gramma!

Look who we found in the hallway on our way to lunch!

Watch out, Lucy!

So brave!
Our room had a large whirlpool tub that Maggie took a bath in!

Wherever Maggie goes, Lucy is soon to follow....

Sisters!

Lucy loves her Gramma!

Making Maggie run off some of her energy and excitement before the ride home...

Thanks for a great weekend, Gramma and Papa!

We had to squeeze in a round of 3-D mini golf before we left!

See? The running around helped! It was a nice, quiet ride home!

Conversations.... with a 2 year old.

Mom: "Maggie, why is JoJo (the doll) laying on the floor in the middle of your bedroom?"
Maggie: "Momma, she pooped all over! She has poop on her butt, poop on her legs, poop in her hair, and poop here!" (rubbing her sides)
Mom: "Wow. That's too bad."
Maggie: "No kidding, Momma. She's a fricken' mess!"
**********************************
Mom: "Maggie, did you have a good time at the circus yesterday?"
Maggie: "Yeah, Momma. But I really did want to go in those jumpy things."
Mom: "Sorry Mags. Mommy and Daddy just didn't bring enough money to do that."
Maggie: "I really liked the popcorn I shared with Daddy. It was yummy, but I didn't have to eat a snack. We could have used that money for the jumpy thing instead, you know."
****************************************
Mom: "Maggie, we have to sweep the floor before our company comes."
Maggie: "OK, Momma. I will help!"
(Maggie sweeps with her little broom.)
Maggie: "God dammit, Momma. There's a lot of shit on this floor!"
