Here are a few reasons we will never have them:

Groovy!
Thursday was a gray, rainy day. Luckily, Gramma bought Maggie a bright, tie-dyed dress at Sunday's art fair in downtown Kenosha. What better way to brighten up an otherwise gloomy, "trapped inside" kind of day?
Even better? A few years back she bought one for Maggie when she was much smaller- and mom was able to dig it out for Lucy. It fit just right! :)

Laura's Shower
The weekend of July 10 & 11, we headed to Minnesota to celebrate Aunt Laura's wedding shower. It was such a nice (but hot!) day and a great weekend visiting with the Salmon family. It's hard to believe the big day is less than a month away at this point! Maggie is so excited to wear her beautiful flower girl dress!
McDonald's in "the Dells" for chicken nuggets!

Why yes, of course!
Most babies learn to shake their heads and say "no" looooong before they learn to nod the affirmative.
Then, there's Lucy.

Dinner with the Salmon's
Maggie has become a "picky eater." All of a sudden. It's really not fun. At all. She will no longer eat most vegetables, any meat that is not in the form of chicken fingers or corn dogs (does that count as meat?) or anything with "spots" (ie: seasonings such as parsley flakes or pepper) which will instantly be deemed "too spicy" before even tasting it. Thank goodness for Lucy. She eats ANYTHING!
In her attempts to avoid eating "yucky" food, Maggie has become quite the clown at the dinner table. She will sing, dance, do sign language.... anything to NOT eat what's on her plate. Here is a quick snapshot of what our dinner table looks like on any given evening:
It really doesn't help that Lucy is her #1 fan....

Gramma, in one of her "shopping excursions," found a set of gloves and earmuffs on clearance that she thought would be great for Maggie. I am pretty certain that she was thinking they would be great for next winter. Maggie, on the other hand, obviously had other ideas.

4th of July!
What a busy weekend we had for the 4th of July! So busy, in fact, that we are just getting around to blogging about it, 2 weeks later!
So......our weekend started with a LOOOOOOONG drive to Mundelein, IL (ummm... we got a little lost!) for a dear friend's baby shower. It was a beautiful day to spend outside and visit with old friends. After a LOOOOOOONG drive back home (lost again!) we packed a picnic supper and headed to the lakefront to watch the fireworks. Gramma, Papa, Ant Jood, Gary, and Milan were all there, too! It was a blast! (no pun intended!)

Sunday we decided to skip the parade and take good naps- because that evening we headed over to Gramma and Papa's to celebrate Papa's birthday! It was nice and hot and Papa had the pool set up for the kids! It's always fun to visit with the family.... Monday morning we had plans to drive to Racine to meet some friends for that parade. Dad was a saint, however, and got up with the girls and let mom sleep in.... until 9:3o! Oops! No parade! But we had a great day hanging out at home, working in the yard and playing.....
Picnic at the lake!
Milan thought Lucy's pigtail was almost as fun as the fireworks!
Lucy- in her "Little Red Riding Hood" cape!
Cool fireworks!
Just hangin' out... waiting for the show to begin!
Whoa!
Our family (why does Dan look so crabby?)
