What a great time for daddy to be out of town....

As many of you know, Dan is off hunting this week north of the Green Bay area (on a side note- he called at 9:30 am Saturday morning and had already shot a 4 point buck!) Unfortunately, he missed quite the conversation this afternoon while Maggie and momma worked on changing Lucy's diaper. It went something like this:
Maggie: "Momma, Preston (a boy at school) has sumpin weird by his butt."
Mom: "Weird? By his butt? Like what?"
Maggie (looking extremely confused): "Momma, it's this weird thing by his butt like an elephant's nose!"
Needless to say, Momma was laughing so hard poor Maggie never really did get a true answer... Maybe we'll leave that one for daddy to explain when he gets home????

Look what I can do!

Lucy's new trick! She's been rolling over "accidentally" since she was a few weeks old. Yesterday it just kind of "clicked" and she has been doing it all weekend! Check her out!

Giggle Monster!

Friday night, Lucy had a BAAAAAAD case of the giggles! It all started when we were playing on the floor. Lucy looked at Maggie and just started giggling and giggling... which, in turn, caused Maggie to giggle and giggle. Maggie thought this was "super hilarious" (her words, not mine!) and decided to do all sorts of silly tricks to make Lucy laugh even more.... She found that "falling over" was got the best results- and dropped to the ground again and again and again.... We were having so much fun and laughing so hard, we almost forgot to grab the camera! By this time, Lucy was just about giggled out (and had the hiccups to boot!) but we still managed to catch a few good ones!
Enjoy- there is nothing quite like baby giggles to bring a smile to your face!

Vaccinated!

This evening Maggie went to the doctor to get her flu shot (the seasonal flu shot, not the H1N1- we are still debating on that one...) Anyway, in preparation, mommy told her that she might get a shot, or she might get something squirted in her nose. Maggie was super concerned about the shot, so we even packed a special band-aid to wear, just in case. Much to mommy's relief, she just got the nasal mist. When it was all said and done, Maggie insisted on her "special band-aid" anyway.... it made her nose feel much better!

Snuggle Butts!

Last week, after I took a shower, I came back to the bedroom, turned on the light, and found THIS in my bed:
Needless to say, it took every ounce of self-control to keep myself from crawling right back in to bed and being late for work!

Random Fun!

Lucy Elizabeth!
Lucy in her "apple-saucer" (per Maggie)

Big girl in her highchair!

Maggie in her new Snow White get-up (thanks, Gramma!)

Maggie at the Rain Forest Cafe

Riding the train at Gurnee Mills.... Maggie is such a great shopper!

Maggie dictating EXACTLY what she wanted on her jack 0' lantern: a square nose, triangle eyes, and a smiley mouth with teeth!

So proud!

The finished product!

Lucy was not quite as fond of her pumpkin....

...after a while, she began to warm up to the idea....

Leave a baby in a pumpkin long enough, and they WILL smile! :)

More MN fun....

On Halloween afternoon, somewhere between the big birthday party and trick or treating, Grandpa Mark took Maggie outside to play in the leaves. He raked a HUGE pile and both he and Maggie had tons of fun! The best part was when Grandpa Mark decided to hide in the leaves.... Maggie couldn't find him anywhere- Be sure to check out the video!

Daddy brought out the camouflage and joined in the fun!

Just check out Maggie's face- She was truly having a blast!

Throwing leaves!

Trick or Treat!

This past weekend we were lucky enough to travel to Minnesota to celebrate Halloween (and Kayden and Keiran's birthdays!) with the Salmon's! By far, the best part was trick or treating "small town" style (ie: after dark!) For the first time, too, Maggie "got" what trick or treating was all about and had an absolute BLAST! She didn't want to miss a single house!
Our little ladybugs!

Didn't take long for Maggie to catch on!

Auntie Laura's Mark was Maggie's trick or treat buddy- "C'mon Mark- walk faster!"

Kayden SOOOO wanted to crawl right in on top of her!

After trick or treating was done, Keiran and Maggie asked for an apple- even with all that candy! Good job, girls!

Soooo tired from being so cute!

Without the ladybug parts of their costumes, they look like jailbirds!

(it's almost impossible to get 4 children under 4 years to all look at the same camera at the same time... you just click away and hope for the best!)

Pumpkin Farm

A few weeks back, we packed up on a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon and took the girls to Jerry Smith's Pumpkin Farm. Maggie LOOOOVED the Wizard of Oz and Snow White displays!

Our little pumpkins!

I think Maggie truly believed she had arrived in Oz....

Feeding the goats!
