Smiling!

They are few and far between, but we were lucky enough to catch a "Lucy Smile" on camera today!

Strawberry Picking

On Sunday, Papa took mommy and Maggie to Thompson's Strawberry Farm for some strawberry picking. It was so much fun, and Maggie loved picking strawberries almost as much as she loved EATING them! Now to find some recipes to use up all these darn strawberries.....

Finding just the right row for picking...

Papa shows Maggie how it's done

Maggie, looking for "just the right one!"

Someone "taste-tested" a few....

Maggie shows off our strawberry bounty!

At this point, she was so tired and dirty, we don't even know what that was on her face!

Apparently, our strawberries taste like lemons... Whatever...

Just hangin' out....

Some cute Lucy pictures in her new duds from cousins Brad, Beth, Emme, and Davan! Gotta love the chunky arms! Milk does a body good!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

Last weekend, mommy, gramma, Maggie and Lucy made the drive to New Glarus, WI to help celebrate at Auntie Katie's bridal shower. It was such a fun day, and a wonderful (Swiss) shower! For Maggie, the best part, by far, was when Auntie Katie introduced her to chocolate covered strawberries.... She figured it out quick- eat all the chocolate off the strawberry...and move on to the next one!

It began innocently enough...

Mmmm.....

"How 'bout nudder one, Auntie Katie?"

2 Weeks!

Caught a smile!

Today Lucy went for her first check-up with Dr. Leslie, our new pediatrician here in town. He was great, and Lucy is doing awesome! At 2 weeks, they want to see babies back at their birth weight (7lb 2oz)- Lucy passed that right up! Here were her stats today:
Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz. (all that "snacking" all day is paying off!) - 50th percentile
Height: 20 1/4 " - 50th percentile
Head: 13 1/2" - 20th percentile (no cute summer hats for her for a while!)

Here are some pictures from today- to celebrate our 2 week old baby! Also, a video. Maggie pointed out yesterday that we have no "Lucy movies" to watch... So, that was our project today. She isn't too entertaining yet... sorry!

Just for laughs....

Yesterday afternoon as mom got ready to head to Eric and Amy's, Maggie asked if she could go downstairs to play "kitchen." After a few minutes, it was eerily quiet, so mom yelled down the stairs to ask what she was playing. She yelled back, "I not playing kitchen momma!" To which mommy replied, "Well, what are you doing?" She (too) quickly yelled back, "I not pooping momma!"

We are working (half-heartedly) on potty training. Maggie DOES NOT like to get caught with poop in her pants. When she finally did come upstairs, this is what happened:

Helpin' Papa...

On Friday, mom decided not use up a sick day for a teacher work day and headed into school with Lucy for the day. Maggie spent the night at Gramma and Papa's house and spent a better part of Friday morning outside, getting dirty with Papa. When mom pulled up after work, this is what she found:

Papa was busy digging a hole for the new mailbox post, and they decided it was just the right size for Maggie to hang out in.... Maggie LOVED it and thought it was so much fun.... Mom was freakishly reminded of that story of Baby Jessica in the well a few years back....

Sisters!

Sisters... this is a dynamic mom is not quite sure she is prepared for....

So far, so good. Maggie has had a "crazy" couple of days, but at this point we're not quite sure how much of it has to do with Lucy, how much to blame on absolutely no routine and sense of normalcy in our house right now, and how much of it is just her being, well, 2. Either way, it's pretty obvious she adores her new sister and will often stop playing just to run over, kiss her, and say
"I lub you Luthy Liddybits."

Meeting Lucy for the first time... She had to check for "toe jam" immediately....

Eskimo kisses!

Proud big sister!

Jammie time!

This video is not the best... Maggie was "all done" holding Lucy and wanted to get away.
The moment was sooooo over, but mom was determined to get Maggie saying "Luthy Liddybits" on video! It's so cute!
